Article Feature of Arvind Khaire: Expert in Real-World Self Defence Training

Arvind Khaire, founder of the CTS (Combat Tactical System), continues to lead the way in empowering women with practical, no-nonsense self-defence techniques designed for real-world safety. Featured in The Times of India’s article “Defence to the Rescue”, Khaire’s program focuses on transforming fear into readiness through situational awareness, tactical movement, and improvised defensive tools.

The CTS approach trains women to handle high-pressure scenarios using realistic responses rather than complex martial arts routines. Participants in CTS workshops learn how to assess threats, maintain composure, and execute quick, effective actions to escape danger.

Through ongoing programs in schools, colleges, and communities, Arvind Khaire has established CTS as one of India’s leading self-defence training systems — building confidence, safety, and empowerment among women across Mumbai and beyond.

Navi Mumbai, India — More than 50 young women from Modern College, Vashi, gained practical safety awareness and real-world self-defence skills during an empowering workshop conducted by self-defence expert Arvind Khaire, founder of the CTS (Combat Tactical Systems). The initiative was organized in collaboration with Men Against Violence and Abuse (MAVA) and the Women’s Self Defence Foundation, promoting the importance of self-protection education among students.

Originally featured in The Times of India (Mumbai Edition, April 21, 2014) under the headline “Defense to the Rescue,” this program reflects Arvind Khaire’s long-standing mission — transforming fear into confidence and ensuring safety through knowledge, awareness, and action.

Empowering Students Through Awareness and Action

During the workshop, Arvind Khaire emphasized the core CTS principle:

“The first step in self-defence is awareness,” said Arvind Khaire. “Students must learn to identify early signs of danger, defuse confrontation whenever possible, and defend themselves only when necessary.”

Participants learned practical, adaptable techniques for real-life situations — from handling harassment to using surroundings effectively for protection. The CTS training focused on psychological readiness, situational awareness, and tactical responses designed for the modern urban environment.

CTS Self Defence: Real Training for Real-Life Safety

Unlike traditional martial arts, the CTS Self Defence (Combat Tactical Systems) focuses on immediate, real-world applicability. It equips participants with rapid, efficient responses suitable for urban environments, helping them act decisively during unexpected situations.

Key focus areas included:

  • Recognizing and avoiding potential danger zones.

  • Verbal defusing techniques to de-escalate conflicts.

  • Quick, effective self-defence tactics against common attacks.

  • Building mental strength and situational clarity.

“True empowerment comes when fear is replaced with confidence,” says Arvind Khaire. “Self-defence isn’t just about fighting back — it’s about staying aware, staying calm, and staying safe.”

Join the CTS Self Defence Movement

Through partnerships with colleges, schools, and NGOs, CTS Self Defence System continues to train and inspire individuals across Mumbai and Maharashtra. Each program reinforces one mission — making self-defence a necessary life skill for everyone.
