In today’s world, self defence is not just a skill—it’s a right.
Arvind Khaire, often hailed as the Pioneer of Inclusive Self Defence, has dedicated his life to ensuring that everyone, regardless of ability, has access to personal safety education. Through his innovative programs, he continues to redefine empowerment and inclusivity in the realm of self-defence training.

Breaking Barriers: Making Self Defence Accessible to All

For years, self-defence training was seen as a privilege reserved for those with full physical ability. Arvind Khaire changed that narrative. As the Pioneer of Inclusive Self Defence, he envisioned a world where individuals with disabilities could also learn to protect themselves, build confidence, and reclaim independence.

His work is rooted in the belief that safety and self-reliance are universal rights—and his programs are designed to make those rights accessible to all.

In partnership with the American India Foundation Trust, Arvind Khaire developed three specialized digital self defence courses for individuals with different disabilities:

  • Visually Impaired

  • Hearing Impaired

  • Orthopaedic Disability

These thoughtfully designed courses combine visual demonstrations, audio cues, simplified language, and adaptive techniques—ensuring accessibility for diverse learners.

Through these disability-inclusive self-defence programs, over 500 women with disabilities have gained real-world safety skills, confidence, and independence. The courses empower participants to recognize danger, respond effectively, and move with assurance in their daily lives.

Empowering Through Innovation

Arvind’s inclusive digital training model bridges the gap between technology and empowerment. His approach blends traditional martial arts principles with modern accessibility tools—including captioning, sign language integration, and verbal instruction for the visually impaired.

This pioneering work demonstrates how technology can be a powerful force for inclusion, creating opportunities for safety education that extend far beyond physical classrooms.

Championing Inclusion and Equality

What sets Arvind Khaire, the Pioneer of Inclusive Self Defence, apart is his unwavering commitment to equality and empowerment. His initiatives don’t just teach defensive moves—they instill confidence, awareness, and emotional strength.

By adapting his training methods to meet the needs of people with disabilities, Arvind has helped break stigmas and empower communities that were often overlooked in mainstream safety education.

His vision continues to inspire NGOs, schools, and organizations across India to adopt inclusive models of safety training that create lasting social impact.

Expanding Impact: Empowering Deaf and Visually Impaired Women

In a groundbreaking initiative, Arvind Khaire conducted exclusive self defence programs for Deaf schoolgirls in Bangalore, Mysore, and Gurgaon, collaborating with esteemed organizations such as the Cheshire Disability Trust, Sightsavers and the American India Foundation.

These programs not only boosted the confidence and personal safety of participants but also demonstrated that with the right support, individuals with disabilities can lead empowered and independent lives.

Arvind also created specialized self-defence modules for visually impaired girls and women, training over 1,000+ visually impaired participants across Bangalore, Mysore, Delhi, Gurgaon, Mumbai, Bhopal, Mandla, Pratapgarh, Bodh Gaya, Dungarpur, Kalahandi, Mahasamund, Unnao, Katni, Raisen, Howrah, Hazaribagh, Jaipur, and many more regions.

His efforts have equipped women with essential safety skills, confidence, and courage—helping them navigate the world with dignity and independence.
